Accommodations
All full day camps will be held at Palos Verdes High School in Palos
Verdes Estates overlooking the
blue Pacific Ocean on the westside of scenic Palos Verdes Peninsula.
The school has outstanding athletic facilities and a magnificent
swimming pool for a cool dip during free time. Daily swimming will be
under the guidance of our coaches and certified lifeguards.
The swimming facilities are complete with supervised dressing rooms.
Transportation
Once again, the Peninsula Sports Camps will be providing transportation
with the School Bus Service and with its own vans. For a reasonable
additional fee of $35.00, campers may be picked up in the morning and
returned in the afternoon ($5 discount per person for two or more same
family members). We will service Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance,
Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes with the School Bus at the designated
bus stops and our own vans will pick up from San Pedro, Palos Verdes
and Torrance. lf you are interested, please contact the Camp Director
by telephone or check the appropriate box on the application. Because
of the overwhelming response last year, transportation reservations
must be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Transportation confirmations
will be mailed to you.
Lunches and Snack Bar
The camps will have available a complete snackshop offering nachos,
hot dogs, pizza, soft drinks and other luncheon items at reasonable
prices. Sack lunches are also welcome. Ice water will be available to
all campers throughout the day and at lunch. The lunch areas will be
fully supervised.
Insurance and Medical
Care
Each athlete must be covered by his or her parents insurance before
participating in this program. A supplementary policy only is in effect.
Expenses resulting from illnesses are the responsibility of the participants
parents or guardian. Medical aid is provided by our camp trainer, and
a doctor is on call.
Special Group Rates
For groups of 11 or more each camper will receive a $5.00 discount.
Brother and sister groups receive a $5.00 discount per camper. Only
one discount per camper. NOTE: Group applications must be sent in one
envelope with the name of the person forming the group written on each
application.
Awards
Each camp session is concluded with a Friday awards ceremony, including
the distribution of camp photos, certificates and personal evaluations.
The ceremony will also be an opportunity for parents to meet coaches
and counselors.
Tuition and Refund Fees
The Peninsula Sports Camps are moderately priced at $215.00 for a one
week session. The Peninsula 1/2 Day Soccer and Baseball Camps are priced at $105.00
for a one week session. ln order to secure your place at anyone of these
camps, a $60 deposit is required for each camp week that you register
for along with the application form. The balance is due in-full two
weeks before each camp. Enrollment is guaranteed only after receipt
of the balance. Space permitting, enrollment will be accepted up to
the day of the camp session with full tuition accompanying the application.
Up to July 1, you will be given a full refund it you need to cancelno
questions asked! Just be sure to call our office prior to July 1. A
$60 cancellation fee will be charged for any cancellation made after
July 1. However, there will be no refund one week prior to each
camp. Any camper who leaves camp due to injury (but not illness),
will receive a pro rata credit good for use at future camps.
Extended Day
The Peninsula Sports Camps will offer extended day service on full day
programs. Campers
can be dropped off from 8:30-9:00 am in the morning (free of charge)
and can be picked up as late as 5:00 pm ($5.00 charge daily). Please
mark the box on the application if you are interested. Arrangements
and fees can be handled on a daily or weekly basis.
Once you have enrolled, more detailed information will be mailed to
you regarding what to bring, arrival time, etc.
